CRPS is becoming increasingly prevalent in society. It is a painful condition characterized by continued long-term regional pain usually occurring after an injury or surgery. It is characterized by extreme pain, swelling, limited range of motion, and changes to the skin and bones. The treatment of CRPS revolves around physical therapy, medications, and interventional procedures such as sympathetic blocks and neuromodulation with spinal cord stimulation. Early diagnosis is extremely important in CRPS. The sooner the diagnosis the better chance for recovery.
